Six Mondays, beginning October 5, 2015, Aging in Paradise Resource Center will be presenting a six-part series called “Powerful Tools for Caregivers.” During the six week course caregivers develop a wealth of self-care tools that enable them to survive the roller coaster of caring for a loved one with a chronic disease.

- Dealing with Change
- Taking Care of you

Summer matinees continue Wednesday September 2 with the delightful movie Singin’ in the Rain with Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. Showtime is 1:30 p.m. but arrive a little early to meet friends and fill a bowl with fresh popcorn. We have cold lemonade, too! All shows are in the Aging in Paradise Resource Center, second floor of the Longboat Island Chapel. All movies begin at 1:30 p.m. A $5 donation is suggested. The first Tuesday of every month, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Memory Screenings will be provided by Sue Fox, Program Specialist for the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Chapter! The maximum number that can be screened per day is seven, so be sure to sign-up quickly.

Sue brings a wealth of experience and expertise in Mental Health and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Quincy College and a Master’s Degree from Concordia University! Screenings are held in the Ruth Cushing Room, Aging in Paradise Resource Center, 2nd floor of the Longboat Island Chapel, LBK. Larry Auerbach, Emerald Life Master with over 8000 Master Points continues at AIPRC on Fridays during August from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to continue providing Beginner-Refresher Bridge – A Fun and Relaxed Step-by-Step Approach. Larry is returning due to popular demand! He uses a great approach to growing your bridge skills.
There is a charge of $5 per class.
